Screenly

Anthias

A free self-hosted player for Raspberry Pi and x86, formerly Screenly OSE.

  • Open source
  • Free tier
  • Self-host

Anthias is the open source project that used to be called Screenly OSE. It does one job well: put a playlist of images, video and web pages on a screen with no subscription and no cloud account. Installation on a Pi is a card flash from Raspberry Pi Imager rather than a command line, and it runs on ordinary x86 machines too. Screenly maintains it alongside its commercial product, and the code is dual licensed, so building a product on top of it is a licensing conversation rather than a given.
